Hardscape, Patios & Pavers
Patios, walkways, steps, and seat walls in pavers, flagstone, stone, and concrete, built on a solid base.
Patios and Walkways Built From the Ground Up
A patio is only as good as what is underneath it. Every hardscape project we build starts with proper excavation, compacted base, and planned drainage, then finishes in the material that fits your home and budget: pavers, flagstone, natural stone, or concrete.
Paver Patios
Interlocking pavers in many colors and patterns that flex with ground movement.
Flagstone & Natural Stone
Dry-laid or mortared flagstone for a natural, organic look.
Concrete
Broom-finish, stamped, and exposed aggregate concrete patios and walkways.
Walkways & Steps
Paths and steps that connect the yard and feel solid underfoot.
Seat Walls & Planters
Built-in seating and raised planters in block, stone, or brick.
Overlays & Tile
Refresh tired concrete with overlays or tile when the base is sound.
How We Build Hardscape
Our hardscape standards are written down, and they apply to every project that includes them.
- Concrete: minimum 3½ inches with rebar on about a 2-foot grid and about 6 sacks of cement per yard
- Pavers: compacted base rock, bedding sand, polymeric joint sand where appropriate, and edge restraint
- Brick and block: reinforced concrete footings and mortared joints
- 2-year warranty on hardscape and construction
See all of our construction standards on our How We Build page.

What Affects the Cost
Every yard is different, so we price each project after a site visit. Your proposal lays out options so you can choose what matters most.
Hardscape FAQs
Pavers or concrete?
Poured concrete usually costs less up front. Pavers cost more but flex with ground movement instead of cracking, and individual pavers can be replaced. We will show you both in person.
Will my concrete crack?
All concrete can crack over time. We use rebar, a strong mix, and compacted base to keep it stable, and our 2-year warranty covers excessive settling or slab movement. Hairline cracks are normal.
Can you match existing concrete or stone?
We get as close as we can, but new materials will look different from older, weathered surfaces at first.
Do you remove the old patio?
Yes. Demolition and haul-away of existing concrete, pavers, and landscape is part of most projects.
